Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She spent most of her childhood in Ecuador where her family served as missionaries. When Jennifer was ten years old, they returned to the U.S. and moved to Haddock, Georgia. Jennifer attended the University of Georgia, where she majored in language education and graduated in 2004. She then attended seminary at McAfee School of Theology and graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2007. She participated in a pastoral residency program at MilledgeAvenueBaptistChurch in Athens, Georgia.
In March of 2009, she moved to Pendleton, South Carolina to serve as associate pastor at FBCP. Jennifer enjoys traveling, movies, running, and reading. She has run two half-marathons and completed her first (and possibly only!) full marathon in October, 2010. Her favorite author is Sue Monk Kidd. She has two cats, Penguin and Espresso. In November of 2012, she married Travis Rygg from Greenville, South Carolina. In April of 2014, Jennifer and Travis welcomed Thomas to their family. Jennifer loves being a mom and watching Thomas grow!
