Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love
April 10, 2022 · 10:45 am · Passion (Palm) Sunday
Jesus said that if his disciples were silenced, the rocks would cry out. Yet sometimes, our voices are silenced – by fear, by criticism, by worry. On this Palm Sunday, may God grant us the courage to proclaim Jesus as king – through our words, through our worship, and through our actions. May our lives proclaim: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Luke 19:38)
We will wave palm branches as we gather for worship, and the service will feature the Sanctuary Choir offering four anthems, along with Scripture and prayer. Shayla Henderson and Aniya Webb will read Luke 19:28-40. Rev. Jennifer Rygg will give the Offertory Prayer. Rev. Chris Cottingham will read Philippians 2:5-11. The Sanctuary Choir will perform four anthems, including “Lion of Judah, Calvary’s Lamb,” “In This Very Room,” “Near the Cross,” and “Behold the Lamb.”

CHILDREN’S WORSHIP RESOURCES
Our Lenten worship materials, Full to the Brim, include an affirmation and an art prompt for children each week. The affirmation will be part of the children’s sermon during the worship service.
This week’s affirmation is: I speak up and tell the truth.
Art prompt: Create a tower of stones to remind you to always speak the truth. What are your stones saying?
