Bedding and Linens
As mentioned on page 5 of your “Youth-Parent-Essentials” handout (which has the whole packing list), you should bring: towels, wash cloths, pillow, and bed sheets (twin XL) or sleeping bag to put on the mattress of your bed.

Don’t forget: toiletries, deodorant, Bible, alarm clock or watch, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, and WATER BOTTLE. Camp currently says masks are suggested but not required for indoor activities.

COVID Policy
EITHER you must be fully vaccinated, OR you must have a negative COVID test result within 3 days of the start of camp (so the test would need to be on June 9, 10, or 11).
We will leave on June 12. Wear your new church t-shirt and comfortable pants/shorts and comfortable shoes.
9:45 a.m. – arrive at church and load bus.
10:30 a.m. – go to worship service and receive a blessing from the church.
11 a.m. – leave church and head to Greensboro College in NC!
We’ll plan on 2 stops, one for lunch and one for rest room.

Dress Code
Just remember we’re going to church camp and we’ll do missions work in the community, so plan to dress comfortably, appropriately, and decently. Clothing – including bathing suits – should not have inappropriate messages or go out of the way to show lots of skin, whether for guys or girls!

Digital Sabbath
Like all other campers, at PASSPORT we will participate in a “Digital Sabbath” where we don’t use phones or other electronic devices. Campers are welcome to use electronics on the drive to camp. After we check in, Pastor Chris and Mrs. Maxey will take up phones and electronics for safekeeping. (Be aware that if camp staff see any electronics during the week, they will take them up and turn them into the group chaperones.) Phones will be returned on the morning we leave, so kids can take pictures with their new friends! And of course they’ll have them for the drive home. During the week, parents can contact their student in 3 ways:

  • Call or text Chris Cottingham, (864) 420-6221. In solidarity with the students, I’ll be off my phone as much as possible, but I WILL have it on me at all times so you can reach us as needed.
  • Call or text Hannah Maxey, (843) 798-0837.
  • If for some reason you can’t reach a chaperone, PASSPORT Camp also has an emergency line: (205) 588-6948.

The intention is to help kids focus on building relationships at camp without distractions from social media, games, etc. If you need to set up check-in times with your student, let Chris know and we’ll work that out.

Return
We’ll be returning Friday, June 17. We’ll leave Greensboro at 11 a.m., and plan to make two stops, for lunch and RR break. Depending on travel time, we should be back at FBC Pendleton around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. We’ll have your students contact you from the road to let you know our progress and if our expected arrival time changes.
