The theme of our late summer sermon series is “Soul Food.” The themes of food and table fellowship occur frequently in Scripture. These texts offer us spiritual nourishment using examples from that which physically nourishes us.

The Call to Worship will be “Before the Throne of God Above.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Songs of Praise will be “Blessed Be Your Name” and “We Will Feast in the House of Zion.” Richard Baldwin will read Proverbs 9:1-6 and Pam Willoughby will read Psalm 34:8-14. The Offertory Hymn will be “God of Grace and God of Glory.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will give the Offertory Prayer and lead The Lord’s Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “It Is Well with My Soul” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Lord, I Need You” with “I Need Thee Every Hour.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “An Appetite for Instruction.” The Hymn of Response will be “Be Thou My Vision.”
