Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.
January 26, 2025 · 10:45 am · Third Sunday after Epiphany
During the season of Epiphany, our sermon series, Living with Joy, invites us to consider how we can live with purpose and joy in our everyday lives. Stories of the early ministry of Jesus, along with Old Testament texts, remind us that joy can be found in our lives, regardless of external circumstances. This joy sustains us through hardships and gives our lives deeper meaning.
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation and then read Psalm 19. The Call to Worship will be “It Is Well with My Soul.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Passing of the Peace and sing “All Heaven Declares.” The Song of Praise will be “Shout to the Lord.” Richard Baldwin will read Luke 4:21-30. The Offertory Hymns will be “You Are My All in All” and “Goodness of God.” Richard Baldwin will give the Offertory Prayer. The Offertory will be “He Is Exalted.” The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Rejoice in the Lord Always” and “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Joy Beyond Us.” The Hymn of Response will be “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say.”
