Summer Sermon Series: Called In
If someone disagrees with our words or actions, they may call us out – challenging us, possibly in a way that feels shaming and critical.
Another approach would be for someone to call us IN – to invite us, through conversation and relationship, to consider a better way.
This summer sermon series, Called In, invites us to reflect on how God uses our mistakes, weaknesses, and experiences to help us grow.
Our text for June 15 will be 2 Samuel 11:26-12:15, “Called to Repentance.”
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Faith of Our Fathers.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Song of Praise will be “Christ In Me Arise.” The Hymn of Praise will be “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will read Romans 5:1-5. Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Offertory Prayer. The Offertory Hymn will be God, Our Father, We Adore Thee.” Richard Reynolds Huss will play “I Stand Amazed in the Presence” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Son of God, Most Holy.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Called to Repentance,” incorporating 2 Samuel 11:26-12:15. The Hymn of Response will be “I Surrender All.”
