Summer Sermon Series: Called In
If someone disagrees with our words or actions, they may call us out – challenging us, possibly in a way that feels shaming and critical.
Another approach would be for someone to call us IN – to invite us, through conversation and relationship, to consider a better way.
This summer sermon series, Called In, invites us to reflect on how God uses our mistakes, weaknesses, and experiences to help us grow.
Our text for July 13 will be Amos 7:7-15, “Called to Truth.”
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Andante” by Carl Reinecke. Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Song of Praise will be “Ancient Words.” Warren Willoughby will read Psalm 82. The Offertory Hymn will be “Let Your Heart Be Broken.” Warren Willoughby will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” for the Offertory. Rev. Chris Cottingham will sing “A Prayer for Grace.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Called to Truth,” incorporating Amos 7:7-15. The Hymn of Response will be “I Then Shall Live.”
