December 24, 2025 · 5:00 pm · Christmas Eve Service of Communion & Candlelight
On Christmas Eve, we gather for carols, communion, and candlelight, remembering how the light shines in the darkness and good news is louder than fear.
If you are joining online, you may want to gather elements to celebrate Communion.
The Call to Worship will be “Carols of Joy and Wonder.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will sing “On Christmas Night All Christians Sing.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Huss Family will lead the litany and light the Advent Candles and the Christ Candle. We will sing “Angels We Have Heard on High.” Warren Willoughby will read Luke 2:1-20. We will sing “Away in a Manger.” The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Were You There on that Christmas Night?” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the reflection “From Fear to Good News” and then lead the Responsive Reading. We will celebrate Communion, after which we will gather in a circle in the Sanctuary with handheld candles and sing “Silent Night, Holy Night.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Benediction.
