Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.

April 14, 2024 · 10:45 am · Third Sunday of Easter

As we continue in the season of Easter, we will observe Communion, giving thanks for the gift of belonging. If you plan to worship online, you may wish to gather bread or crackers and juice to share in Communion.
In John 20:10-18, Mary encounters the risen Christ who calls her by name. May we too experience being called by Jesus. Even on the wandering journey of faith, we belong to Christ.

The Call to Worship will be “Make a Joyful Noise.” The Hymn of Praise will be “O for a Thousand tongues to Sing.” Kitty Alverson will read John 20:10-18. The Offertory Hymn will be “Grace Alone.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “Christ Is Alive, Let Christians Sing!” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Take, O Take Me As I Am.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Beginning with Belonging.” We will celebrate Communion. The Hymn of Response will be “For Everyone Born.”
