Today we welcome two guest worship leaders! Their presence coincides with the annual General Assembly of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina, which was held at First Baptist Church of Anderson this past Friday, April 21.
  • Rev. Dr. Jeffrey A. Howard, Minister of Christian Education and Community Outreach at Welfare Baptist Church in Belton, will be preaching today’s sermon. Dr. Howard also serves on the steering committee of CBF’s Pan African Koinonia. This ministry aims to cultivate an increased presence of Black individuals and churches throughout CBF life and is committed to providing support for the Pan African community and enhancing the life of the wider CBF network.
  • Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nance-Coker is leading music while Chris Cottingham is away on vacation. Dr. Nance-Coker is the newly-installed Coordinator for CBF South Carolina.

The Call to Worship will be “Nun bitten wir den heiligen Geist” (“We Pray Now to the Holy Spirit”). The Hymn of Praise will be “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise.” Skip Still will read Luke 10:25-37. Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nance-Coker will sing “There Is a Balm in Gilead.” The Offertory Hymn will be “Lord, Make Us Servants of Your Peace.” Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nance-Coker will give the Offertory Prayer. The Offertory will be “How Firm a Foundation.” The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Creation Will Be at Peace.” Guest Preacher Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Howard will preach the sermon “What made the Samaritan so good?” The Hymn of Response will be “They’ll Know We Are Christians.”
