Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.

Each week of Advent, one of our adult Sunday School classes will serve as lay worship leaders. This week, the Combined JOY Sunday School Class is leading in worship. Taught by Harriett Dove, Suzanne Morse, and Max Loyd, the Combined JOY class is the result of several classes joining together in 2021 when we resumed in-person services. This class uses the Connections curriculum from Smyth & Helwys Publishing and meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in Room 310.

Today the Sanctuary Choir will share special music in celebration of the Advent and Christmas season.

December 15, 2024 · 10:45 am · Third Sunday of Advent

The Call to Worship will be “A Light Shall Shine,” a duet sung by Anna Leavitt and Rev. Chris Cottingham. The Combined Joy Sunday School Class will light the Advent wreath. The Sanctuary Choir will lead the congregation in singing “Come to Us.” The Combined Joy SS Class will read Isaiah 51:1-3. We will sing the carol “Arise, Your Light Is Come.” The Combined Joy SS Class will lead the Passing of the Peace. We will sing the carol “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” The Combined Joy SS Class will give the Offertory Prayer.
