Christmas Day has come and gone, but the Christmas season continues, and so does the Christmas story. This First Sunday of Christmas, we hear the darkest chapter in the story. Together, we will nurture the Light and rejoice that love is still stronger than fear.
Rev. Chris Cottingham will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Christmas Chimes.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Responsive Reading and the Passing of the Peace. The Carol of Praise will be “The First Nowell.” Kim Burgess will read Matthew 2:13-23. The Offertory Carol will be “Coventry Carol.” Kim Burgess will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “What Strangers are These?” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Creator of the Stars of Night.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will preach the sermon “Fear, Faith, and Fuel.” The Hymn of Response will be “Go, Tell it On the Mountain.”
