Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.
February 15, 2026 · 10:45 am · Transfiguration Sunday ∙ Communion Sunday
On the last Sunday before the season of Lent begins, we will observe communion. Please bring a donation for Clemson Community Care.
We are continuing to hear and reflect on stories of Jesus’ ministry in the gospel of Matthew, focusing our attention this week on two stories, both found in Matthew 14:1-21: the beheading of John the Baptist and the Feeding of the 5000. Even in the midst of political turmoil and danger, God’s abundance is evident.
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation and will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Hymn of Praise will be “Sing a New Church.” Richard Baldwin will read Matthew 14:1-21. The Offertory Hymn will be “You Are My All in All.” Richard Baldwin will give the Offertory Prayer. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “You Call Us, Lord.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “The Antecedent to Abundance.” The Hymn of Response will be “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.”
