Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

March 27, 2022 · 10:45 am · Fourth Sunday of Lent

God’s abundant and amazing grace fills us to the brim! In the well-known story of the Prodigal Son, we are reminded of God’s grace for ALL – for the son who has squandered every good gift his father ever gave him and for the son who has obeyed his father but harbors resentment against his brother. No matter the ways in which our sin has pulled us away from God, God is waiting to welcome us home with a lavish celebration. Will you join the party?

Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Full to the Brim…Prodigal Grace.” Anna Leavitt will read Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 and give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play the Calvin Hampton arrangement of “There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy” for the Call to Worship. The Hymn of Praise will be “Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace).” The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Lion of Judah, Calvary’s Lamb.” The Hymn of Response will be “How Deep the Father’s Love.”

CHILDREN’S WORSHIP RESOURCES
Our Lenten worship materials, Full to the Brim, include an affirmation and an art prompt for children each week. The affirmation will be part of the children’s sermon during the worship service.

This week’s affirmation is God loves me no matter what.
Art prompt: Create a home to remind you that God is always inviting you home to celebrate. What does God’s home look like?
