May 17, 2026 · 10:45 am · Seventh Sunday of Easter

On this Seventh Sunday of the season of Easter (May 17), our Scripture text will be Philippians 2:1-13. “The Christ Hymn” challenges us to be like Jesus in ways that are challenging and countercultural. Do you really want to be like Jesus? If all Christians truly committed ourselves to following the Way of Jesus, what kind of difference might we make in the world?

Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Largo.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Songs of Praise will be “Your Light Has Come” and “Grace to You.” Jane Reynolds Huss will read Philippians 2:1-13. The Offertory Hymn will be “Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service.” Jane Reynolds Huss will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “Be Strong in the Lord” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “At the Name of Jesus.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Do you really want to be like Jesus?” The Hymn of Response will be “Take My Life, and Let It Be Consecrated.”
