Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.
In Acts 2:1-21, the Holy Spirit fills all the believers, and people from all over the known world hear the good news proclaimed in their own language!
These followers of God are not all blended together to be identical and homogeneous; rather, the Holy Spirit speaks to them in their own language. Their differences, uniqueness, and backgrounds are honored, even as they are invited into the transformative community of Jesus’ followers.
Churches do not have to be comprised of cookie-cutter disciples. Rather, we can be a salad bowl – with different flavors and unique identities, learning from one another and growing together in faith.
