Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.

November 19, 2023 · 10:45 am · Twenty-fifth Sunday after Pentecost

As we prepare for a week of Thanksgiving, we give thanks for God’s many blessings. In the midst of feasts and gatherings, may we recognize the importance and value of gratitude. Giving thanks is good for us and for our communities. Two Scripture texts, Deuteronomy 8:7-18 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 will guide us as we explore the connection between Thanks and Giving. Join us with grateful hearts as we worship together!

The Call to Worship will be “Thanks Be to Thee.” The Songs of Thanks and Praise will be “Give Thanks” and “Blessed Be Your Name.” Dale Chandler will read Deuteronomy 8:7-18 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. The Offertory Hymn will be “We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer.” Dale Chandler will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play the Offertory “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come.” The Sanctuary Choir will sing the anthem “Thanksgiving.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Thanks and Giving.” The Hymn of Response will be “Now Thank We All Our God.”
