What WILL God do?
God’s work in the world is not complete. What WILL God do? Scripture is filled with God’s promises for the future. In Jeremiah 23:1-6, God says God will gather, bring back, and raise up. When we feel scattered, alone, lost, and empty…may we hold on to these promises of God’s future actions with hope. God WILL gather. God WILL bring back. God WILL raise up.
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Sheep May Safely Graze.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Songs of Praise will be “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come” and “Give Thanks.” Kitty Alverson will read Psalm 46. The Offertory Hymn will be “We Praise You O God, Our Redeemer.” Kitty Alverson will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “The King of Love My Shepherd Is” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “For the Autumn Sky.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “God will… gather, bring back, raise up,” incorporating Jeremiah 23:1-6 and will then lead the reading of Psalm 23. The Hymn of Response will be “Let All Things Now Living.”
