Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people
Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

November 6, 2022 · 10:45 am · Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost

Like the ancient Israelites returning from exile in Babylon, we live in a changed world. How can we find forward movement in the midst of upheaval? We will explore wisdom from the prophetic words of Haggai.

Today we welcome Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nance-Coker, coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina, as our guest preacher. The Call to Worship will be “Commit Your Way to God the Lord.” Rev. Chris Cottingham and the congregation will sing “Sanctuary” for the Invocation in Song. Pam Willoughby will read Psalm 145:1-5, 17-19. Warren Willoughby will give the Offertory Prayer. The Sanctuary Choir will sing the anthem “The Tallis Canon.” Guest Preacher Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Nance-Coker will read Haggai 1:15b-2:9 and preach the sermon “Finding Our Way in a Changed World.” The Hymn of Response will be “Like a Mother with Her Children.”
