Sermon Series on Prayer ∙ Three Prayers Not to Pray
“Lord, teach us to pray.” (Luke 11:1) What do our prayers indicate about our faith? The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, and Jesus gave them The Lord’s Prayer. What prayers have shaped your relationship with God and your understanding of the nature of prayer? This week’s sermon, “The Prayer that Quits,” is inspired by Luke 11:5-13.

Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “O Lord, Hear My Prayer.” The Songs of Prayer will be “Jesus, Remember Me” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (v. 1). Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Passing of the Peace. The Song of Praise will be “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (v. 3). Rev Jennifer McClung Rygg will read Luke 11:5-13.
