Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!
a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people
Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

October 30, 2022 · 10:45 am · Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost

On Sunday, October 30, we will observe All Saints’ Day, remembering those from our church family who have died during the past year: Pat Hagood, Billy Brock, Amelia Kaylor, Tommy Johnson, Bunny Calcutt, Doris Franks, and Chris Taylor. Our faith in Christ promises us that death is only half of the story. On Sunday, we will celebrate the other half – resurrection and eternal life.

The Call to Worship will be “Come, Sweet Death, Come, Blessed Rest.” Richard Reynolds Huss will play the Hymn of Praise “In Christ Alone.” Dale Chandler will read Ephesians 1:11-23. Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Offertory Prayer. The Sanctuary Choir will sing the anthem “For the Saints.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Dancing at Death’s Door.” The Hymn of Response will be “Because He Lives.”
