Welcome to First Baptist Church of Pendleton!

Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

September 11, 2022 · 10:45 am · Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Today we continue our Fall Sermon Series, “What Disciples Do.” Throughout this series we will be reflecting on the actions that define and are expected of disciples of Jesus. What do disciples do? Disciples seek people for Christ and church. Today’s Scripture text, Luke 15:1-10, read by Randy Strickland, offers two stories about seeking and celebrating.

The Call to Worship will be “Thaxted,” and the Hymn of Praise will be “All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly.” Today’s music also includes a duet, “Friends,” performed by Pam Willoughby and Chris Cottingham as well as an anthem, “Fairest Lord Jesus” by the Sanctuary Choir. We will have a prayer of remembrance for September 11, 2001. Randy Strickland will give the Offertory Prayer. Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Party for One.” For the Hymn of Response, we will sing “We Are Travelers on a Journey.”
