Season of Creation
This Sunday, we will acknowledge the Season of Creation, a worldwide ecumenical Christian observance celebrating God’s created world.
This year’s theme, Peace with Creation, is inspired by Isaiah 32:14-18.
Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Welcome and Invocation. The Call to Worship will be “Thanks Be to Thee.” Rev. Chris Cottingham will lead the Passing of the Peace. Rev. Chris Cottingham will sing “Your Light Has Come.” The Hymn Medley will be “Jesus, Remember Me” and “Open My Eyes, that I May See.” Kay Thomas will read Psalm 1. The Offertory Hymn will be “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Ted Thomas will give the Offertory Prayer. Richard Reynolds Huss will play “This Is My Father’s World” for the Offertory. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Canon of Praise.” Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Peace with Creation,” incorporating Isaiah 32:14-18. The Hymn of Response will be “We Are People of God’s Peace.” Becky Milam will present an Invitation from the Personnel Committee. Rev. Jennifer McClung Rygg will give the Pastoral Benediction.
