Rooted in Faith and Growing in Love

November 20, 2022 · 10:45 am · Christ the King Sunday

On November 20 we will observe Christ the King Sunday as we conclude our fall sermon series, What Disciples Do. For the past ten Sundays, we have been reflecting on the actions that are expected of and that identify us as disciples of Jesus:

· Disciples take faith seriously.
· Disciples seek people for Christ and church.
· Disciples resist greed.
· Disciples practice generosity.
· Disciples take their faith home.
· Disciples make the best of “Babylon.”
· Disciples wrestle with God.
· Disciples don’t judge.
· Disciples affirm resurrection hope.

Today we celebrate Jesus as Lord over all. Ultimately, what disciples do is follow Jesus. Disciples give ultimate allegiance to Christ. What does it mean for Jesus to be king in your life, today, here, now? For those worshiping online, if you have a cross in your home, bring it into the room as you prepare to worship. You may also make a cross from wood, paper, or any supplies you may have.

The Call to Worship will be “Rejoice, the Lord Is King.” Skip Still will read Colossians 1:11-20 and give the Offertory Prayer. The Sanctuary Choir will sing the anthem “O Give Thanks.” Pastor Jennifer McClung Rygg will preach the sermon “Christ the King, Here and Now.” The Hymn of Response will be “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”

The service will be uploaded to YouTube later. Bookmark and Subscribe to our YouTube channel.
